How to play Mortgage Acres
- Drive with WASD or the arrow keys, or drag on the screen. Pick PLOUGH and drive over the grass to turn it into soil, then pick SOW and drive over the soil to plant seed from your seed bag.
- Crops take real time to grow: 2 minutes for lettuce up to 40 for corn, pumpkins and sunflowers. Drive over them in WATER mode to speed them up, or use fertilizer.
- When crops are ripe, pick HARVEST and drive over them. The harvest goes into your trailer, which has limited space and wilted crops sell for less.
- Drive to the MARKET and press E to sell, fill orders or pay the mortgage. Visit the FARM SHOP for seed and upgrades, and drive up to a FOR SALE field to buy it.
About the game
Mortgage Acres is a top-down farming simulator. You drive a tractor around your own farm, fit a plough, seeder, sprayer or harvester, and work fields of real-time crops that take between 2 and 40 minutes to ripen. They keep growing while the tab is closed, so a short visit is enough to keep the farm going.
Haul your harvest down the road to the market, where a price board shows what each crop is worth right now, and sell it. Buy seed, fertilizer and upgrades at the farm shop, buy new fields as you grow, and pay off the farm mortgage to earn a deed and take on a bigger farm.
Tips
- Plant long crops like wheat, corn or pumpkin before you leave, and quick lettuce or carrots while you stay.
- Check the price board on the market roof: hold a crop back for a few minutes if its price is climbing.
- Keep an eye on the minimap: red fields are ready to harvest, yellow ones are still growing.
